All young climbers must be actively supervised by a responsible adult unless booked into a coach-led session.

CHILD SUPERVISION

Outside of coached sessions, supervision is limited to 1 adult per 2 under-18s.

Under-8s may only use the Children’s Climbing Room.

Climbers aged 8–17 require active adult supervision, and all supervising adults must complete a Coliseum induction.

Add your own children under “Family” and other supervised children under “Connections”.

JUNIOR INDEPENDENT CLIMBING

Under-18s may only climb independently once they have successfully completed our Teen Climber Licence assessment and demonstrated they can climb safely without supervision.

Our Teen Climber Licence is a streamlined 4-week course designed for young climbers aged 14-17. Climbers who have already visited The Coliseum at least 6 times may be eligible for a direct assessment, although independent sign-off is not guaranteed.
